The Flesh is the False Witness
2-28-25
Two Witnesses: Spirit vs. Flesh
Pro 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Our spirit is the faithful witness that will not lie, and our flesh is the false witness that utters lies. A lie is anything that exalts itself against the Word of God (2 Cor 10:4,5).
The Flesh is Your Worst Enemy
The flesh is your very worst enemy. It hates your Christ-identity, and it wants to destroy you. Flesh is the old man that was crucified when you believed from your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead, and you with Him too (Ro 10:8-10, Eph 2:6). It hates the fact that you were resurrected with Christ and its still left in the grave, and so it attempts to sneak out and seek revenge if you don’t crucify it daily.
Jhn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Yashua came that you would have life abundantly. The flesh is the criminal who tries to steal that from you. The flesh bears witness against your own spirit, your own scroll, and against God Himself. The flesh directly bears witness against your Christ-identity at every chance it gets because it is anti-christ. This is why you must hate it.
The flesh is a faithful witness to satan and his lies; and a false witness of Yashua (who is Truth) and His Word.
The flesh will always bear witness to the lie against God and try to bring you into the experience of the lie. The father of the flesh is satan.
7 Characteristics of Flesh
Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
These seven descriptions are seven abominable characteristics of the flesh. The flesh is a criminal before God and it is worthy of death. It is directly God’s enemy. This is why we must judge it and put it to death ourselves (Gal 5:24). This is what Yashua did, and He expects us to do the same.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Crucifying the Flesh: Its Belief System and Consciousness
To follow Yashua is to deny Self (flesh) daily, and to crucify it daily. This means you crucify its belief system and circumcise its consciousness. Its belief system is iniquity (lies) against God and your scroll, and its consciousness is the conscious experience of those lies.
A False Witness that Speaketh Lies:
Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
The flesh is the “false witness that speaketh lies”. The flesh cannot submit to the law (Word) of God. It is the enemy of God. The flesh directly opposes the Word of God. The flesh accuses God of being a liar and of being a hard man. The flesh bears false witness against the Word of God. It tries to convince you that God is a liar and that His Word is true for everyone else except you.
Mat 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
The mind of the flesh is the conscious experience of a reality that is not God’s Word. This is the mind of death. When you live in it, you will experience death. Death is separation from God.
You will know you are living in that mind when you are in activities of dead works. Dead works is striving to do something to prove your identity instead of having faith in who God says you are in His Word.
The only way to get out of the flesh mind is to circumcise it by believing in your heart unto righteousness, and confessing with your mouth unto salvation the Word which sanctifies you (John 17:17). The ungodly characteristics in your DNA is the body of flesh that must be destroyed (Ro 6:6).
The Flesh Accuses God
There is no mercy for the flesh. We should have no mercy upon our own flesh, nor upon the flesh of others. Again, the flesh is your worst enemy. The flesh calls God a liar, resists His presence, and is in direct opposition to His reality. The flesh tries to gatekeep your soul from experiencing God’s Word. The flesh follows after its father, the devil who is the great accuser. The flesh will accuse you, accuse the brethren, and accuse God to His face that His Word is not true for you.
The True Witness: The Spirit
Our spirit is the true witness of the Word. All who are full of the Holy Ghost shall be witnesses of His Word. A witness means to be a duplicate copy, that carries the reality and the manifestation of His Word. This is who YOU are. This is your Christ-identity. Your very existence is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Your very existence is in a glorious high throne from the Beginning. Your very existence is in the Beloved Son, whom Yahweh has lavished thoroughly with His precious promises.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
The Holy Spirit bears witness to your spirit, that you are a son of God, while the flesh works against the Holy Spirit to bear false witness against to your identity. The Holy Spirit hates the flesh and bears witness against flesh. The flesh hates the Holy Spirit and bears witness against the Holy Spirit…for they are enemies.
Often believers’ side with their flesh instead of siding with the Holy Spirit. Please don’t do this… bad Christian.
1Jn 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
Now we are not condemned if we are not manifesting every aspect of His Word (such as transfiguration in our body), but we are condemned if we are directly opposing His Word. Faith is what is accounted to us as righteousness, but the liar and the unbelieving shall have their part in the lake of fire. The flesh is the one who goes in the fire, not you.
Unbelief: The Root of Sin from the Beginning
Unbelief was the root of sin from the very beginning. Adam and Eve did not believe Yahweh’s Words, but instead chose to believe the words of a lying serpent. This is because they did not keep (guard) Yahweh’s Word in their heart. This is how the serpent got a foothold.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Jhn 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Healing Unbelief: The Power of the Word
If we find ourselves in unbelief in an area of our heart, it is simply because we don’t have His Word abiding in us in that area. Belief begins in the heart. The heart gets hardened through unbelief (Heb 3:12-13).
Healing comes to our heart when we take all the scriptures on that certain thing we are struggling with unbelief on, and meditate, memorize, and declare them.
The spirit loves God and His Word, and the spirit always chooses to believe God. The spirit is seated in heavenly places with God as one with Him (Eph 2:6). The spirit man believes God loves him because that’s what the Bible says. The spirit lives in the constant reality of God’s Word. The spirit is always ready and willing to believe in the greater revelations of God’s Word, but the flesh is weak. The spirit is “quick in the fear of the LORD”.
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Isa 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD:
Rejecting the Language of Lies
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
A Lying Tongue: In Hebrew is ShaQaR LaSHON, which literally means “untruth language”. The flesh speaks the language of untruth. The flesh speaks against the Word of God which is the truth (John 17:17).
The first lie ever spoken was from the serpent directly contradicting Yahweh’s Word. When they believed the serpent, Adam and Eve became locked into the reality and experience of the serpent’s lies. This is what we still find ourselves doing today. When you believe the lie of the serpent, you will experience and feel the lie. When you believe that God doesn’t love you, which directly opposes His Word, you will experience and feel that lie.
This should make us angry against the lies, because it is the very lie itself that we have believed from our heart and confessed with our mouth that causes us not to feel God’s love and receive God’s promises.
Experiencing the Truth by Faith
When you believe God’s Word, you will experience God’s Word. If you are having trouble believing, this is when we cry out to God for help:
Mrk 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Belief is a choice. The man who struggled with unbelief chose to confess that he believes even though he felt unbelief, and he cried out for help with the unbelief. In that moment he was acknowledging God’s Word is true, and and in his heart is iniquity; and Yashua honored it.
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Conclusion: The Spirit is the True Witness
The flesh is a false witness that speaks lies, but the spirit is the faithful witness of the Word of God. Your spirit, which has been resurrected with Christ, stands as a testimony of the Truth, while the flesh continually seeks to oppose and deny God’s reality. The carnal mind, which is enmity against God, must be crucified daily so that the spirit may reign in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Just as Adam and Eve fell by believing the serpent’s lie instead of guarding Yahweh’s Word in their hearts, so too does the flesh attempt to lead us astray by exalting its own thoughts and feelings above the truth of God. But we are called to reject the false witness of the flesh, to guard our hearts with the Word, and to stand firm in faith, knowing that God is not a man that He should lie (Num 23:19).
True freedom is found in believing and confessing the Word of God. When we reject the lies of the flesh and live by faith, we step into the abundant life Yashua came to give us. We are not condemned if we are still growing into the full manifestation of His Word, but we must recognize that opposition to His Word is what leads to destruction.
Let us, therefore, be faithful witnesses of His Word, choosing to believe and declare His promises, and walking in the spirit where we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. The flesh may accuse, deceive, and resist God, but it has already been judged. It is destined for the fire, not you.
Victory belongs to those who abide in the truth. Every lie of hell can be overcome by the Word. If there is an area of unbelief in your heart, the answer is to saturate yourself in Scripture, meditate on His promises, and cry out as the man in unbelief did in Mark 9:24, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Mat 26:41). Deny the flesh, take up your cross, and follow Yashua daily. In doing so, you will bear the true witness of the Living God, and you will walk in His life, His power, and His Word.
The takeaway from this writing should be that partnering and agreeing with your flesh is a crime and in fact it is disobedience. Notice that there is no other place that Paul specifically describes our warfare activity besides the battlefield of the mind. He attributes this to obedience. If you are not casting down imaginations and every high thought that exalts itself against the Word of God, you are in disobedience. The activity of bringing your mind into subjection is obedience. Now knowing this, take the following verses and practice them in your life on a daily basis. Remember, the flesh is your worst enemy. Don’t give the flesh a foothold in your mind, for it waits at the door, ready to steal from you and destroy your identity in Christ.
Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
